Decorating with classic Toile de Jouy fabrics

There is virtually nothing that doesn't look better with a touch of Toile de Jouy fabric. We use it to create lampshades, cover a tailor's dummy and line cabinets. In French, Toile de Jouy means cloth from Jouy-en-Josas, a town of north-central France. It was first produced in the 18th century and shows pastoral scenes printed in one colour on a white or off-white background.
